I bought a WonderSwan Color
So, yeah, I bought a console that was only released in Japan, with games only in Japanese. Why? Because I wanted to. Do I speak Japanese? No(t yet).
Honestly, it's such a nifty little thing, and a bit quirky too. I like quirky electronics and I enjoy handhelds more than home consoles, so I thought "why not". It's working perfectly, but I might mod it with a brighter screen (maybe with its own source of light?), might change the case for one in better shape (this one is a bit dirty and beat up), and might have to swap the buttons' rubbery contacts for newer ones. I'll also save to buy a flash cart, which apparently has been pretty difficult to come by.
But yeah, getting this thing in my hands is pretty cool. I like how it's made by the same dude who created the Game Boy (I have a DMG all original for ~30 years now, which was a gift from my godfather, who was working in a factory in Japan at the time), I like the form-factor, I like that it uses just one AA battery (my Game Boy needs 4). It's a cool piece of video game history to have on display and play occasionally.
